Regardless of whether you are new to marketing anything on the internet or not, in order to succeed, how you choose to present your product or service will determine your success. In this article, I will briefly share just a few thoughts on the internet marketing of income-producing products and services in which I have personal experience, the home based business industry.

When you study successful online marketers, those who are very successful, copy only those who have and are earning millions of dollars per year. These people all have different methods, depending upon the areas in which their chosen markets are. So let us take a look at a couple of different areas.

What are these? Let us firstly look at what I term the pure Information Providers, those who market electronic downloadable information products. These are generally either e-books or software programs. This type of marketing is very straightforward and uncomplicated for those marketers who are creative, and either technologically-savvy themselves, or have access to experts who are. Their downloadable products are ordered by the customer, either via financial merchant facilitators such as Clickbank or PayPal, and delivered immediately to their computer. The marketer[s] then receive their payment from the facilitator into their bank account within a few days.

These marketers of downloadable information products generally have two main methods of marketing. They advertise their own Sales Letter/Website using paid advertising, pay-per-click, in Google Adwords, Yahoo, etc, as well as through the Affiliate programs they’ve set-up where many hundreds or even thousands of Affiliates market their products on their behalf. The latter is the most common system that the millionaires use, as it expands their advertising exponentially, and not only creates massive income for themselves, but in many cases for their Affiliates as well.

Now let’s look at another area which is currently responsible for countless millions of dollars in expenditure and earnings, and that is areas such as Network Marketing which includes Multi Level Marketing, MLM, but isn’t limited to that system. These areas are undergoing an awesome boom and have been doing so for the last few years, as many millions of people worldwide seek either additional income or want to be able to earn a full-time income in their own business working from home.

This section of the internet marketing industry uses a huge range of advertising methods to market the opportunity programs provided by literally thousands of different companies worldwide. And their marketing methods are generally determined by their budget, what they can afford to spend. Paid advertising, pay-per-click, ppc, is always the most effective when done sensibly and in the correct formula, but because this industry is so dramatically competitive, generally the most expensive form to use.

And ppc advertising, in my experience, is dominated by the Big Players, those marketers who have mega-bucks to invest, with them usually dominating and having online business success, while those whose budget is small generally lose money and have little, or no success, and in at least 90% of cases go bust!

For those internet marketers with a limited budget, or no advertising funds at all, free-marketing using Search Engine Optimisation and Social Media, such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc, can be a very successful way to get the message to the public. These include sending articles for distribution in E-zines, electronic magazines, issuing informative Press Releases, designing a personal web-log, a blog. These are some of the ways that will help the marketer become trusted and build relationships that lead to personal and financial freedom. This system of internet marketing does take time, sometimes months, before you can achieve the results you want. However, it works and is very worthwhile for those who do it well!

OK. Everything I have mentioned above form part of the most vital component of internet marketing, and that Is marketing itself. Every business on the planet needs to be efficiently marketed in order for their products or services to become known and ordered and purchased. So marketing IS the number one factor that must be done successfully, otherwise your business will die a painful death.

So, to finish off, there is one more vital component for your online business success. You must build a list of potential customers and or business partners, because without that list, your business is dead. The downloadable information product online marketers mentioned above are the most successful list-builders on the web, in my opinion. They are super-efficient, and you could do your internet marketing business a huge favour by studying the most successful of these. You can then copy and adapt their methods for your own use and ultimate success.
