My trek into loving all-things Adventure began in the early 1970s, but probably even earlier than that.
I was
18 years old in 1970 and graduated High School that year... and went into Colorado State University that fall.
It was the following early Spring 1971 that my Dad's newly-launched publishing house (now 39 years young) put
out a niche-based board game.
The Treasure Seekers game. And I illustrated the game board.
This, of course, was after several years of being kind of actively involved in the startup phases of putting
books together, a newsletter... and being one of "We Five" kids who got to sit and listen to the read-alouds
of books as they went together.
By later in 1971, things were in full swing with H. Glenn Carson Enterprises and the book publishing
business. From there, my advent into the print and publishing world was almost written in stone. First, it
all fit neatly into my personal desires toward the Art World, and specifically, children's books and
illustration. I was hooked.
I love every phase of the print world. In 1989, this got transferred into the
digital, computer world. In 2000, I created Waybill To Adventure LLC, the electronic sidekick of Dad's
print house... the Web presence. The Internet site that represented all those things you thought could
only happen in the 'real world.' The traipsing through the hills like a billy goat. The never ending
physical path to locating the things of legend. The long walk toward treasure or perhaps only the pot
of gold at the end of a rainbow. These worldly things became... written on the wall of ether.
Every aspect of this has been an adventure in its own right.
By topic of Dad's print house, this would mean
an avid interest in things like Westward Movement, American West, the gold histories of mostly the West and the
Southwest, buried and lost treasure, and the grand legends common to all states of the USA.
Quite frankly, I consider a thing an adventure if it is something you would LOVE to go do, but for
whatever reasons, cannot physically get there. But, in our modern age of information, through research
and imagination, you can indeed not only get there, but in a highly participatory way! Legends, movies,
videos, audio stories, maps, and even live events... all are at your fingertips. Global items, not
just local.
Yep, it's all ADVENTURE to me!

On a cold, gray morning in late January 2000, the historic Mapes Hotel in Reno was imploded by 75 pounds of explosives tucked into the art-deco structures support columns. The controlled demolition came despite years of effort by a number of groups within the community and nationally to preserve the building with lawsuits, redevelopment proposals, and grass roots lobbying efforts.

Kandinsky begun his art career relatively late at the age of 30, when he entered a Munich art school after quitting his established teaching career. Monet & Blavatsky initially inspired Kandinsky to pursue art seriously due to some chance exhibitions that he frequented at this time.
